How to Play

Predicting players' 2016 Clubs

MLBAM will select and display on the website a list of twelve (12) Free Agents. For each Free Agent, participants must drag and drop the corresponding Club that the participant thinks the applicable Free Agent will sign with for the 2016 MLB season into the box associated with that Free Agent.

Selection Deadline

The deadline for selecting the Clubs with which the Free Agents will sign for 2016 is the Lock Time set forth above. MLBAM's computer shall be the official clock of the Contest.

You may edit your selections at any time during the Entry Period prior to the Lock Time.

The list of Free Agents will not change after the Entry Period begins.

Scoring in the Contest is simple. For each correct selection of the Club with which a Free Agent will sign for 2016, participant will receive one (1) point.

For example: If David Price was one of the listed Free Agents and a participant selected David Price with New York Yankees as the Club, and David Price signed with New York Yankees, participant would receive one (1) point.

In the event that any Free Agent does not sign with any Club by March 1, 2016, all participants will receive zero (0) points for such Free Agent.

One (1) eligible participant, if any, who has accrued the highest number of points greater than or equal to six (6) points during the Contest Period, as determined by MLBAM in its sole discretion, will be the potential winner and subject to verification of eligibility and full compliance with the terms of these Official Rules, the potential winner will be declared the official winner of the Contest (the "Winner"),. In the event of a tie among two (2) or more eligible potential winners, the Tiebreakers (defined below) will be used among such tied potential winners to determine the one (1) Winner.  In no event will more than one (1) Prize be awarded.

The Winner will receive two (2) tickets for the Winner and one (1) guest for one (1) 2016 MLB Opening Day home game of the Club of Winner's choice, subject to availability, scheduled to be played in the Continental U.S. or Canada (the " Prize"). Any such resale or commercial or promotional purpose may result in disqualification and Prize forfeiture, and may invalidate the license granted by the game, event or exhibition ticket(s).

In the event of a tie for the Prize, the following tiebreakers (the "Tiebreakers") will be used among the tied participants in the following order:

1.     Which of the Free Agents will be the last to sign by March 1, 2016?

2.     For how many total combined years will the twelve (12) Free Agents sign by March 1, 2016?

3.     MLBAM will administer time-limited baseball trivia quiz(es) testing the tied participants' knowledge of MLB until the tie is broken.

The participant whose response to the Tiebreaker is closest to the correct answer will be deemed the winner of the applicable Tiebreaker.

The potential winner will be notified by email and/or telephone (in MLBAM's discretion) and may (in MLBAM's discretion) be confirmed by postal mail, return receipt (the "Prize Notification"). In the event that the potential winner does not respond to any such Prize Notification within five (5) days of the date of issuance or declines the Prize for any reason, a disqualification will result, the Prize will be forfeited and, at MLBAM's sole discretion and time permitting, the Prize may be awarded to the runner-up potential winner (if applicable and subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with Official Rules requirements set forth herein). The potential winner may be required to submit his/her valid social security number and/or other identification to MLBAM and may be required to execute, have notarized and return an Affidavit of Eligibility (or, if a resident of Canada, a declaration) and Release of Liability and, unless prohibited by law, Publicity within five (5) days of the date of issuance. Winner's guest (if a minor, his/her respective parent or legal guardian) may also be required to sign and return a Release of Liability and, unless prohibited by law, Publicity prior to the issuance of game tickets. Failure to submit any identification required by MLBAM or to return any required documents within the specified time period, the return of such documents, the Prize (or any portion thereof) or Prize Notification as undeliverable or noncompliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification and Prize forfeiture and, at MLBAM's sole discretion and time permitting, the Prize may be awarded to the runner-up potential winner (if applicable and subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with Official Rules requirements set forth herein).
