NLDS:Kansas City over Anaheim (3 games to 0); Baltimore over Detroit (3 games to 0)
The Royals continued their improbable run through the playoffs (after sweeping through the AL Wild Card game and the ALDS) by sweeping the Orioles in four games, all decided by two runs or less.
The first two games in Baltimore were decided in the final inning. Alex Gordon and Mike Moustakas hit homers in the top of the 10th in Game 1. Alcides Escobar and Lorenzo Cain drove in runs in the top of the ninth in Game 2.
Ned Yost laid it all on the line with his stellar bullpen, as Kelvin Herrera, Wade Davis and Greg Holland anchored the back end of each of the four games. They combined to allow just one run on seven hits while striking out 15 in 14 2/3 innings. Holland had a save in all four games.
