Path to the NLCS NLDS:St. Louis over Pittsburgh (3 games to 2); Los Angeles over Atlanta (3 games to 1)
The Cardinals' young pitching shined once again in the playoffs, as rookie Michael Wacha dominated in two starts to help St. Louis take down the Dodgers, who saw NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw lose twice, including in blowout fashion in Game 6.
Wacha and Kershaw met twice in the series -- Game 2 and Game 6 -- and both times the Dodgers were shut out -- with a little help from St. Louis' formidable bullpen. Kershaw took the hard-luck, 1-0, loss in Game 2 before he was tagged for seven earned runs in four innings in the Game 6 clincher.
The first five games were decided by three runs or less.
