Had a scholarship ffer to play baseball at Arizona State, but chose to sign with the Padres...Brother, D.J., was selected as the 12th-overall pick by Seattle in 2013.


Set career highs in nearly every offensive category while earning Atlanta Braves Minor League Player of the Year honors as he played in 132 games in his first professional season at Double-A Mississippi in 2016…Ranked in the top 10 in several offensive categories among Braves farmhands and Southern League batters...Posted a .282 batting average (148-for-524) with career highs in doubles (38), RBI (88), home runs (12), OPS (.774) and runs scored (65)...Started each of his 132 games played, including 125 in left field and four in center field...Collected 148 hits, the second most in the organization and fifth most among all Double-A batters…Over a two-month span, 6/1-7/31, collected 70 hits over 52 games for a .333 (70-for-210) batting average...Paced Atlanta farmhands and ranked tied for fifth among all Double-A batters with 88 RBI...
