When he debuted in a start on 6/5/15 vs SD became the first player from the Reds' 2012 draft class to appear in the Major Leagues, the 34th player from that draft class overall...in 2014 was a Southern League All-Star...was California League Pitcher of the Week for 5/13-5/20, 2013...graduated from Palisades Charter High School in Los Angeles...played for Cuesta College (San Luis Obispo, CA) and at Pepperdine University...follow on Twitter @JonnyMoscot.

2016

Was on the Reds' disabled list twice, from 4/3-4/16 with a strained left intercostal muscle suffered during spring training and then from 5/7-5/30 with inflammation in his non-throwing left shoulder...on 7/5 went on Louisville's disabled list with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow that led to season-ending "Tommy John" surgery on 7/19...began the season on the 15-day disabled list with the strained left intercostal muscle...made a pair of rehabilitation starts before he was reinstated to start on 4/17 at StL...went 0-2, 4.02 in 3 starts for the Reds before he was scratched on 5/3 vs SF with soreness in his surgically-repaired, non-throwing left shoulder that led to his second disabling...on 5/31, following 3 more rehab starts for the Bats, returned to the Reds for 2 more starts before he was optioned to Louisville after a 10-9 loss on 6/5 vs Wsh in anticipation of Anthony DeSclafani's reinstatement from the disabled list...from 6/10-6/30 made 5 more starts for the Bats before suffering the season-ending right elbow injury.

Was 1 of 9 rookie pitchers who combined for 110 starts for the Reds, both single-season modern club records...the Reds' season-ending streak of 64 consecutive starts by rookies, beginning 7/29, is a modern Major League record...was 1 of 5 Reds pitchers to start in his Major League debut (Raisel Iglesias, John Lamb, Michael Lorenzen, Josh Smith)...didn't pitch after 6/15, when 3 batters into the game at Det he suffered a dislocated non-throwing left shoulder in a collision during a rundown...was his third career appearance...on 6/19 had surgery to repair the fractured scapula in his left shoulder...began the season at Louisville and was promoted on 6/5...that night vs SD made his Major League debut after just 77 minor league apps and suffered the 6-2 loss...the fourth-round pick became the first player from the Reds' 2012 draft class to appear in the majors, the 34th player from that draft class overall...struck out his first career batter faced (Will Venable)...in his second start, a 5-2 win on 6/10 vs Phi, earned the victory and singled off Jerome Williams to become the first Reds pitcher to record his first career win and hit in the same game since Bobby Livingston on 6/1/07 at Col...at the time of his 6/5 promotion, his 7 victories tied for second-most of any pitcher in the minor leagues...the Bats went 8-1 in his 9 starts, including 6-0 in his quality starts...from 4/16-4/20 spent time on Louisville's disabled list with a blister on his right middle finger...was a non-roster invitee to Major League spring training camp.
