Quantrill...is the son of Alyson and Paul Quantrill, a former Padre and 13-year MLB veteran pitcher...was a four-time varsity letterman in baseball at Trinity College in Ontario, Canada...also lettered twice in hockey and three times in volleyball...played for Team Canada 18-U for three years, competing in two world championships and a world qualifier (Seoul, Taichung and Cartagena)...the Team Canada squad won the 18-U World Championship in Seoul...drafted by the New York Yankees in the 26th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft but did not sign...in 2014, became the first freshman pitcher to start opening day for Stanford University since Mike Mussina in 1998...led Stanford in innings pitched (110.2) and strikeouts (98) and was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and to the All- Pac-12 Team...as a sophomore in 2015, was on the Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list and began the season 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA before undergoing Tommy John surgery on 3/20/15...missed his junior season due recovering from the surgery...has a yellow lab named Chevy...is a big fan of sandwiches from Board & Brew...favorite TV show is Friends ...roots for the Toronto Maple Leafs...originally singed by Padres scout Sam Ray.
