Marlins recall Urena; designate Narveson

The Marlins made a couple of roster moves prior to Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Nationals. Right-hander Jose Urena was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans and lefty Chris Narveson was designated for assignment.

Opened season with Single-A Jupiter and went 1-1 with one save (one opportunity) and 1.50 ERA (12.0 ip/2 er) in eight appearances before being promoted to Double-A Jacksonville on June 15...Was on disabled list from April 9 to May 23 with left elbow ulnar neuritis...Following promotion to Jacksonville, went 3-2 with 2.15 ERA (29.1/7) in 18 appearances...Recorded at least one strikeout in 16 of 18 appearances with Suns, including five three-strikeout efforts...Had contract selected by Miami on September 2 and made Major League debut on Sept. 5 vs. Mets, tossing scoreless eighth inning. Recorded first strikeout in debut, fanning Bartolo Colon...Tossed 4.0 consecutive scoreless innings to start Major League career, allowing just one hit. Allowed two runs on four hits over final two appearances (1.2 ip).
