Attended Mississippi State University....Named SEC Pitcher of the Year as a junior in 2012 after going 11-2 record with a 2.38 ERA over 17 appearances (12 starts)....Was a consensus First Team All-American....Won the 2012 Ferriss Trophy as the top collegiate baseball player in the state of Mississippi and was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award (National Player of the Year).

2015

Split the season between double-A Richmond and triple-A Sacramento, combining for a 5-10 record and a 3.95 ERA in 26 games (all starts)...threw 148.0 innings and registered 111 strikeouts between the two teams....Started 17 games with the River Cats and went 4-5 with a 3.86 ERA with 72 strikeouts in 98.0 innings....Was a non-roster invitee to Giants spring camp for the first time....Added to San Francisco's 40-man roster on November 20, 2015.
