Nomar Shamir (Jiminian) Mazara…participated in the Rangers' 2017 winter mini-camp and Fan Fest…was a member of the 2010 Dominican Republic squad that won the Junior Division (14- 15) championship in the RBI World Series in Jupiter, FL, along with current Texas prospect Ronald Guzman…father is a retired general in the Dominican Navy…signed by Rodolfo Rosario and Mike Daly.

2017

In his 1st full season, Mazara ranked among the club leaders in RBI (1st, 101), doubles (2nd, 30), hits (3rd, 142), walks (3rd, 55), and HR (T5th, 20)…had 141 starts in RF (86), LF (43), and DH (13)…made 7 starts as DH in September, when he was slowed by tightness in his left quad…career-high 8 OF assists, 2nd-most on the club (DeShields-9)…started 96 of 141 games in the 3rd spot in the order, but also made starts batting 2nd (3), 4th (12), 5th (24), 6th (2), 7th (1), and 8th (4)…had a .785 OPS vs. RHP and a .603 figure vs. lefties…hit .298/.368/.482/.851 at Globe Life Park and .206/.276/.360/.636 on the road…was named A.L.
