Pagan to miss time with mild hamstring strain

Giants left fielder Angel Pagan left Sunday's 6-1 victory over the New York Mets with a strained left hamstring, which he sustained while running the bases in the seventh inning.

Johnathan Mackensey Williamson Bio Info

Was a high-velocity pitcher at Wake Forest Rolesville High School and in fact, was ranked as the No. 1 pitching prospect in North Carolina....Chose to attend Wake Forest University and after redshirting as a freshman, he fashioned an outstanding baseball career, not as a pitcher, but as an outfielder....Had labrum surgery as a college freshmen...Earned First Team All-ACC honors as a junior in 2012....Led the ACC wuth 17 HRs in 2012 and finished his three year collegiate career with 36 home runs....Was selected by the Red Sox in the 46th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, but decided to return to Wake Forest....The following June, the Giants chose Williamson with their third round pick.

2015

Appeared in 10 games (nine starts) for the Giants, hitting .219 (7-for-32) with a triple and RBI....Had his contract purchased from triple-A Sacramento Sept. 16....Recorded his first career hit in the fifth inning off Oakland's RHP Sonny Gray on Sept. 25...went 2-for-4 in his first career start...Split the 2015 season between double-A Richmond and triple-A Sacramento, combining to hit .275 with 13 HRs and 73 RBI....Following the season he played for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League and batted .370 (27-for-73) with two home runs and 14 RBI in 19 games...helped lead the Scorpions to win the AFL Championship....Was named to the Arizona Fall League 2015 Top Prospects Team.

2014

Hit .318 with seven doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI in 23 games for Class A Advanced San Jose....Had his season cut short after requiring Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on April 29…orthopedist Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery....Had been dealing with the injury to his throwing elbow all season. 

2013

Had the most impressive season of any Giants hitting prospect at a full-season affiliate, leading the organization in home runs (28) and RBI (89)...Was promoted to Class A Advanced San Jose in just his second professional campaign and hit .292 (152-for-520) with 25 home runs and 89 RBI in 136 games...Among the California League leaders he ranked tied for third in home runs and games played, tied for fourth in hits, fourth in total bases (262) and fifth in runs scored(94)...Finished 2013 ranked tied for third on San Jose's single-season home run list...Was awarded SJ's co-team MVP award (wth Ty Blach)...Was named California League Player of the Week for Aug. 19-26 after going 16-for-31 (.516) with four home runs and 12 RBI...Enters the 2014 season rated by Baseball America as the fifth best prospect in the Giants' minor league.

2012

In the 2012 season, Williamson began his professional career playing four Rookie League games in Arizona…he hit two home runs in only 19 plate appearances...Later that season, was moved to short-season Salem-Keizer in the Northwest League and hit seven home runs in 125 plate appearances.
