Phil William Klein...was first team all-conference selection in 2009 and second team selection in 2011 at Youngstown State University…recorded 105 strikeouts in 2011, 2nd-most in Penguin history…twin brother, Mitch, played baseball at Ashland (OH) University…father, Brian, played baseball at Capital University in Columbus, OH…enjoys watching Ohio State football and basketball.

2013

Averaged 11.5 SO/9 in 36 games/2 starts between Myrtle Beach (A+) and Frisco...combined to go 6-1 with a 2.41 ERA (18 ER/67.1 IP) and 86 strikeouts against 47 walks...held opponents to a .210 average (51-243), including a .180 mark (25-139) by right-handed batters...opened the season with Myrtle Beach and tossed 11.2 scoreless innings over his first 6 appearances…promoted to Frisco on 5/1.
