Red Sox, Mariners swing four-team trade

The Mariners acquired left-handed pitcher Wade Miley and right-hander Jonathan Aro from the Red Sox for southpaw Roenis Elias right-handed reliever Carson Smith on Monday, according to reports.

Went 10-12, 3.85 ERA(70 ER, 163.2 IP) in 29 starts during his rookie season... Shut down for the season after leaving start Sept. 16 at LAA witha strained flexor bundle in his left elbow... Became seventh rookie pitcher in club history to record 10-plus wins in a season, first since John Halama (11) and Freddy Garcia (17) in 1999... Among Mariners rookie pitchers all-time,ranked fourth in strikeouts (143), sixth in starts (29), seventh in wins (10), eighth in innings (163.2)... One of seven MLB rookies to record 10 or more wins in 2014…also ranked among AL rookie leaders in starts, innings and strikeouts... Posted a 2.31 ERA (3-4 record) in 10 starts following the All-Star break…was 7-8, 4.54 ERA in 19 starts before the break...
