Christopher Charles O'Brien… batted .333 over three years (2009-11) at Wichita State U niversity…led his team in nearly ever offensive category in 2011, including batting average (.410), hits (100), doubles (25), home runs (10, T-1st) and RBI (70)…in 2011 was named to the first-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and was one of three finalists for the 2011 Johnny Bench Award and a semi-finalist for the Golden Spikes award…lettered four years in baseball and basketball at Bishop Kelley (OK) High School…father Charlie played 15 seasons in the Majors, winning a World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 1995…originally selected in the 18th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft and signed by Dodgers' scout Scott Little.

Appeared in 64 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, batting .195 with three home runs and 21 RBI...Hit .281 with two outs and runners in scoring position, hitting two doubles with 13 runs and eight RBI...In between stints with Rancho Cucamonga, appeared in nine games in July with Rookie-level AZL Dodgers, batting .226 with five RBI.
