John Victor (Jack) Leathersich graduated from Beverly High School (MA) in 2008 as the school's all-time leader in strikeouts and wins... Attended UMass-Lowell…As a junior in 2011, he went 6-2 with a 1.62 ERA with 126 strikeouts and 12.74 strikeouts per nine innings…The strikeouts and strikeouts per nine were both school single-season records and his 12.74 strikeouts per nine innings ranked second in Division II…Became the highest drafted player in school history... Was named the best pro prospect in 2009 Summer Valley League…In 2010, he pitched for Orleans in the Cape Cod League.

2014

Began the year with Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League...Promoted to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League on August 5...For the year, he struck out 93 batters in 54.1 innings (15.4 per nine innings)...For his minor league career, he has struck out 334 batters in 197.1 innings (15.2 batters per nine innings)...Fanned 79 in 46.0 innings pitched at Binghamton and 14 in 8.1 innings pitched at Las Vegas...In the Eastern League, righthanded batters hit .200 (21-105) against him...Struck out five of the seven batters he faced against New Britain on May 25...Fanned at least one batter in 42 of his 48 appearances at Binghamton and Las Vegas...Lefthanded batters hit .167 (3-18) against him at Triple-A.
