Graduated from Sherman (Sherman, TX) High School, where he fashioned a 1.11 ERA (10 ER, 63.3 IP) with 95 strikeouts in 11 starts his senior season....Was named to the Rawlings Texas All-Region first team and chosen as the District 13-4A Pitcher of the Year in 2011....His high school coach in Sherman, Texas, had Crick play first and third base as a junior, pitching now and again…however, a new coach arrived the next season, saw Crick's arm and immediately put him in the rotation…did not become a full-time pitcher until his senior year of high school....The Giants drafted Crick out of high school with its second pick in 2011, which the team received as compensation for losing free agent Juan Uribe to the Dodgers.

2015

Spent his fifth professional campaign with double-A Richmond, going 3-4 with a 3.29 ERA in 36 games (11 starts)...Moved to the bullpen in the second half of last season due to major control issues (had 66 walks and 73 Ks in 63.0ip)....Led the Eastern League with 66 walks, the most he's ever allowed in his five professional seasons....Was a non-roster invitee at Giants' Major League spring training for the second time....Added to the Giants' 40-man roster on November 20, 2015.

2014

Went 6-7 with a 3.79 ERA (38 ER, 90.1 IP) and 111 strikeouts in 23 appearances (22 starts) for Double-A Richmond...Missed 14 days on the disabled list with back tightness (Aug. 18-Sept. 1)....Was a non-roster invitee at Giants' Major League Spring Training for the first time in his career.

2013

Spent the entire year with Class A Advanced San Jose, going 3-1 with a 1.57 ERA (12 ER, 68.2 IP) and 95 strikeouts in 14 starts...Is ranked as the Giants' top prospect in the organization
according to Baseball America heading into the 2014 season...Recorded 10-or-more strikeouts in five of his 14 outings (35.7%)...Allowed two earned runs or fewer in 13 out of his 14 starts...Was selected as San Francisco's representative for the U.S. Team in the All-Star Futures Game...tossed 0.2 innings with two walks in relief...His progress was interrupted when he strained an oblique in his third start of the season and was placed on the disabled list for two months from April 19-June 21...Tossed 5.0 no-hit innings on July 17 before being lifted from the game...he worked around five walks and struck out six during his 80-pitch effort...Matched a career-high with 11 strikeouts over 5.0 innings on July 30, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks...he struck out seven-consecutive hitters to begin the game...Was named the California League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 2...in Crick's start, he matched a career-high with 11 strikeouts, allowing just two hits in 7.0-shutout innings...Went 0-1 with a 2.87 ERA (5 ER, 15.2 IP) in 7 outings (five starts) for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.
