Aaron Lee Brooks was originally signed by Royals scout Scott Groot…graduated from Cajon High School in San Bernardino in 2008…set school records in home runs and career wins…attended Cal State, San Bernardino…named California College Athletic Association Freshman of the Year in 2009… posted a 2.74 ERA as a junior and finished third in the nation in walks per nine innings…set school's career record for innings pitched. 

2015

Began the season in the Kansas City organization and posted a 6.23 ERA in two relief appearances over four stints with the Royals … was traded to the A's with minor league pitcher Sean Manaea on July 28 for Ben Zobrist and cash considerations, and went 3-4 with a 6.71 ERA in 11 games, including nine starts, with the A's. Tossed five quality starts with the Athletics, including collecting his first major league win, August 1 vs. Cleveland ... allowed just five hits and one run in a career-high 7.1 innings in Oakland's 5-1 triumph ... also tossed 7.0 innings in his next start, August 6 vs. Houston. Went 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA (8 ER/16.2 IP) over his final three outings (two starts) of the season with Oakland. Spent majority of the season with Triple-A Omaha in the Royals organization, appearing in 18 games (17 starts) ... went 6-5 with a complete game and a 3.71 ERA (44 ER/106.2 IP) ... struck out 92 batters and walked 21. Between Omaha and Triple-A Nashville (Oakland) went 7-5 with a 3.56 ERA (47 ER/118.2 IP) in 20 games, including 19 starts. In the minors issued just 21 walks in 118.2 innings, an average of 1.59 walks per nine innings … allowed a .275 opponents batting average, including .254 (54-for-213) against left-handed hitters compared to .294 (73-for-248) against right-handers. Went 4-1 with a 2.95 ERA over a seven-start span with Triple-A Omaha following a one-day stint with the Royals April 26. At the time of the July 28 trade to the A's, he ranked fourth in the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts (92) and tied for eighth in innings pitched (106.2).

2014

Aaron had two stints with the Royals, but pitched a majority of the season at Triple-A Omaha...Made his Major League debut on May 3, pitching 2.0 innings of relief vs. Detroit…He also made his first Major League start May 31 at Toronto, taking the loss after tossing the first 2/3 of an inning...Tabbed Omaha Pitcher of the Year, tying for second in the Pacific Coast League with 12 victories and ranking seventh in ERA (3.88) and 14th in innings pitched (139.0)...Tossed a two-hit shutout in the Pacific Coast League Championship-clinching game, defeating Reno, 4-0...Named PCL Postseason MVP, going 3-0 with an 0.75 ERA (2 ER in 24.0 IP) with three walks and 24 strikeouts in three playoff starts...Posted a 5-0 record and a 3.66 ERA over his final six starts of the year…he also went 4-0 with a 2.13 ERA (6 ER in 25.1 IP) over five starts in May.

2013

Named Northwest Arkansas (AA) Pitcher of the Year after splitting the season between the Naturals and Wilmington (A-Advanced)...promoted to Double-A on June 1...Tossed one of only six 9.0-inning shutouts in the Texas League, blanking Arkansas (7-0) on July 24...named league's Pitcher of the Week on July 29...Allowed just 11 walks in 103.2 innings with the Naturals (0.95 BB/9 IP), fewest in the Texas League among hurlers that recorded at least 100.0 innings.

In 2011, earned Pioneer League All-Star honors...finished second in the league in ERA and innings, tied for fourth
in wins and tied for eighth in strikeouts.
