Rougned Roberto Odor…played amateur baseball in his hometown of Maracaibo, Venezuela…was selected as the all-tournament second baseman in the 2009 World Youth Baseball Championship…his brother, also named Rougned, is in Texas organization and played with club's Dominican Summer League squad in 2015…his uncle, Rouglas Odor, played in the Cleveland and Milwaukee organizations and was a Carolina League All-Star in 1990…Rouglas is currently hitting coach for the Columbus Clippers, Cleveland's International League affiliate…participated in the Texas Rangers 2015-16 winter caravan and fan fest.


Continued to establish himself as one of the game's premier young players, posting career highs in nearly every category while batting .271 (164-605) with 33 HR and 88 RBI over 150 games in his 1st full ML season…joined Juan Gonzalez (43/109 in 1992) as the only players in club history with 33+ HR and 88+ RBI in an age 22-or-younger season…over the last 4 seasons (2013-16), the only other ML players with such a season were Bryce Harper (42/99 in 2015) and Mike Trout (36/111 in 2014)…led Texas in HR and 2B (33)…T12th in A.L. with 70 XBH, T13th with 304 total bases…5th-hardest in league to double up (100.8 AB/GIDP)…2nd player in MLB history with fewer than 20 walks in a 30-HR season (also Andres Galarraga - 31 HR/19 BB for 1994 Rockies).


Club's Opening Day second baseman batted .261 (111- 426) with 21 doubles, nine triples, 16 HR, and 61 RBI in 120 games, surpassing his 2014 rookie totals in every significant offensive category…was optioned to Class AAA Round Rock after just 29 games, but reclaimed the second base job upon his return on June 15 and posted the sixth-highest OPS (.781) among all second basemen last season…had two stints with the Rangers: Opening Day- May10 and June 15-end of season.


Was purchased from Frisco (AA) on May 8 and went on to start 106 games at 2B and one as the DH the rest of the season as the majors' youngest player...was selected as the Rangers Rookie of the Year...tied for 8th in the A.L. in triples (7), matching the 2nd most on the club, and placed 3rd on Rangers in RBI (48)...ranked among the A.L. rookie leaders in triples (T2nd), RBI (4th), hits (6th, 100) and multi-hit games (6th, 23)...was just the 2nd Texas rookie ever with 7 or more 2B (14), 3B (7), and HR (9) in a season, joining Ruben Sierra in 1986.


Named organization's Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year after combining to hit a career-best .305 (156-511) with 41 doubles, 6 triples, 11 HR, and 78 RBI in 130 games with Myrtle Beach (High-A) and Frisco (AA)…the .305 figure was highest among all full season Texas farmhands…finished T3rd among all minor league players with 41 doubles…ranked in both the Carolina League (3rd) and Texas League (4th) seasonending prospect lists by Baseball America.


Spent entire campaign with Hickory as the youngest regular in the South Atlantic League..tabbed the 20th-best prospect and the top defensive second baseman in the SAL by Baseball America..…appeared in 85 games at second and 15 contests at shortstop…named the SAL Player of the Week for May 21-27, batting .364 (8-22) with 5 doubles, a home run, 4 RBI, and 7 runs over 7 games…..compiled a 26-game onbase streak from April 28-May 30, batting .327 (33-101) with 9 walks…..batted .293 (56-191) with 14 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, and 29 RBI over 49 games prior to the All-Star break, .232 (56-241) over 60 games in the second half…..selected as the organization's Defender of the Month for July.


Assigned to Spokane in Northwest League after signing, a circuit usually reserved for college draftees…named the 7th-best prospect in the NWL by Baseball America…recorded the most putouts by any second baseman in the circuit and ranked 2nd on club in steals (10)…batted .304 (55-181) over first 43 games and .109 (6-55) over final 15 contests…hit first career grand slam on July 17 at Everett.
