He is married, wife's name is Camille...Graduated from St. Anthony High School in Effinngham, Ill., before attending Parkland College in Champaign, Ill., and the University of Central Florida.

2016

Made his first Opening Day roster, but only appeared in three games before a fractured right elbow ended his season... Needs 57 more days on the active roster to satisfy Rule 5 roster rules...Struck out the side with 11 pitches on Opening Day, 4/4 vs. WSH... Fractured his elbow on 4/10 vs. STL, leaving the game in the seventh inning after throwing a pitch in a 12-7 loss...All three of his outings were scoreless...Placed on the 15-day disabled list on 4/11 and underwent surgery for a medial epicondyle avulsion fracture on 4/13...Dr. James Andrews performed the procedure in Gulf Breeze, Fla... Transferred to the 60-day disabled list on 8/3.

2015

Spent the majority of the season on the 60-day disabled list (4/5-9/10) recovering from "Tommy John" surgery performed last July before making his MLB debut in September. Was on the active roster for 25 days…Made his debut on 9/21 at NYM. Faced three batters, striking out two and walking one. Threw 16 pitches in his first action since 6/7/14 while with Double-A Tulsa…Allowed two solo home runs in his only other appearance, a 1.0-inning no-decision on 9/27 at MIA.

2014

Made 12 starts with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, notching a 1.41 ERA (11 ER/70.0 IP) with five wins. Tossed the first shutout of his career on 4/22 at Arkansas, holding the Travelers to one hit and fanning aseason-high 10 in 7.0 innings. Never surrendered more than three runs in any of his 12 games, holding his opponent to two runs or fewer in 11 outings and turning in six scoreless starts. Went 4-1 with a 0.78 ERA in eight starts on the road, yielding just four runs in 45.1 innings. All five victories came during a five-start span from 4/15-5/9, during which he went 5-0 with a 0.88 ERAand fanned 38 batters in 30.2 innings. Underwent season-ending "Tommy John" surgery on 7/1 after leaving his start on 6/7. The surgery wasperformed by Dr. James Andrews. Selected by the Braves from Colorado in the Major League phase of the 2014 Rule 5 draft on 12/11.

Led the minors in strikeouts with 175 while his WHIP (0.98) was lowest for any pitcher with more than 23 starts...Despite being called up to Tulsa on 8/6, his 12 wins with Modesto were tied for the second-most in the California League and his 2.97 ERA was the second lowest...His 13 combined wins were tied forthe most in the Rockies farm system...Was a California League Mid-Season All-Star as well as being Pitcherof the Week on two separate occasions...Following the season was named to the CAL Postseason All-Star Team and was the League Pitcher of the Year
