Attended Male High School (Louisville, KY)...Majored in exercise science at the University of Louisville...Was a Johnny Bench Award semifinalist (top college catcher) as a senior in 2010.

Played in 97 games for Class A Advanced San Jose and hit .251 (88-for-350) with 13 home runs and 61 RBI...Was selected to the California League mid-season All-Star team...Won San Jose's Defensive Player of the Year award...Threw out 32.4% (35-of-108) of attempted base stealers (fourth in the California League)...Posted career-highs in nearly every offensive category including games played (97), runs scored (53), hits (88), doubles (26), home runs (13) and RBI (61)...Had a 10 game hitting streak from April 18-May 3…was 15-for-39 (.385) during the streak...Matched his career-high with four RBI twice (May 7 and July 12).
