The Indians believe that they identified a flaw in Cody Anderson's delivery during his start against the Twins on Tuesday night. Cleveland is now giving the right-hander a chance to work on the issue at Triple-A Columbus before returning to the big leagues.

Full name CODY ANDREW ANDERSON...Single...Graduated from Quincy (CA) High School in 2009 and played two years of baseball at Feather River College (Quincy, CA), spending most of his time in the bullpen (2.21ERA, 25 games)...Was signed to attend TCU as a junior before signing with Cleveland (midseason All-Star selection at A Lake County in 2012)...2016 TribeFest participant.

2015

Began the season at AA Akron, going 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA (10ER/52.0IP) in 10 starts/appearances...Was promoted to AAA Columbus on June 5 and made three starts for the Clippers, posting a 2.33 ERA (5ER/19.1IP)...Anderson was promoted by the Indians and made his Major League debut on June 21, tossing 7.2 scoreless innings against Tampa Bay (6H, 1BB, 4SO)...In his first four career starts, Anderson went 2-1 with a 0.89 ERA (3ER/30.1IP) and limited opponents to a .165 clip (17-for-103), but posted a 10.19 ERA and an 0-2 record over his next four outings and was placed on the 15-day DL (L Oblique Strain) on Aug. 8...Anderson was activated from the DL on Aug. 26 and over his final seven starts of the season, he went 5-0 and boasted a 1.66 ERA (8ER/43.1IP), lowering his ERA to an MLB rookie-low 3.05...Went 5-0 with a 1.38 ERA in six September starts (39.0IP, 29H, 6ER), joining Corey Kluber (Sept. 2014) as the only two Indians pitchers to win A.L. Lefties batted .345 (80-232) off him with a .995 OPS...Entered 2014 season ranked as the fifth-best prospect in the entire Indians organization by Baseball America... Was named the 2013 Cleveland Indians Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going a combined 9-4 with a 2.65 ERA in 26 starts between Carolina and Akron (136.0IP , 121H, 40E R, 40BB, 122K )...Was promoted to Double-A on 8/15...His 10.29 base runners per 9.0IP was second-lowest in the Carolina League...Named to both the Midseason and Postseason CL All-Star teams before being tabbed the Carolina League Pitcher of the Year at year's end...Cody was also named the 2013 winner of the Matt Minker Community Service Award, an award that is presented to a Carolina League player who best serves his club's community during each regular season...Was an MILB.COM organizational All-Star selection.
