Johnson grateful for chance after callup

Following the demotions of former first-overall pick Dansby Swanson and right-handed pitcher Aaron Blair, the Braves recalled right-hander Jason Hursh on Thursday and utility man Micah Johnson from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday to fill in the vacant 25-man roster positions.

2016

Appeared in two games with Atlanta while splitting the remainder of the season between Triple-A Gwinnett and Double-A Mississippi... Entered the season as Atlanta's No. 23 prospect according to Baseball America... Transitioned the bullpen full-time in his fourth pro season…His 45 combined games between the majors and the minors set a career-high total... Made his MLB debut on 8/13 at WSH after the Braves selected his contract from the G-Braves the day before…Allowed three hits and a run over 1.0 inning... Allowed four runs, earned, one hit and three walks in his other MLB appearance, 8/17 vs. MIN... Began the season with Double-A Mississippi… Promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on 7/29...
