Adam Joseph Achter (pronounced OCK-ter)...2007 graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio...Attended Michigan State University from 2008-10, going 8-13, 4.29 ERA (214.0 IP, 102 ER) with 119 walks, 148 strikeouts and two complete games in 39 career games (36 starts)...Pitched for the Lake Erie Monarchs of the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League in 2008...In high school, named Clay's 2007 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year...rated No. 5 high school prospect in Ohio by Baseball America...Lettered in baseball three times, serving as team captain during junior and senior years...Earned three varsity letters in both football and basketball...Earned second-team all-league honors after setting school record for touchdown receptions...Named second-team All-League in basketball, and holds single-game scoring record with 39 points.
