Morin poised to rejoin Angels' bullpen

Angels reliever Mike Morin returned to the team on Monday, one month and five days after going on the disabled list with a strained left oblique. The 24-year-old right-hander is done with his rehab assignment and is expected to be activated Tuesday or Wednesday.

Michael William Morin (MOER-in)...On Twitter: @MrMoosh28. Active with the Save a Warrior project… In 2015, contributed $11,500 to the organization ($250 for each save the Angels accrued). Attended Shawnee Mission South High School (Overland Park, KS) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Named by Baseball America as having best changeup control in the LAA system prior to the 2014 season. Named Angels Minor League Pitcher of the Year for 2013. Participated in Arizona Fall League during 2013 off season. Originally signed by Angels scout Brandon McArthur.

2015

Pitched to a 4-2 record in 47 games for Angels with 41 strikeouts and nine walks. Was not charged with a run in 14 of 20 appearances during the first two months of the season. Suffered a left oblique strain May 23 at Fenway Park... Missed 34 games on disabled list. Made four rehab appearances between Arizona League Angels (one game) and Triple-A Salt Lake (three games) before being activated from DL July 1. Was not charged with a run in 14 of 18 appearances in Sept./Oct. Recorded 26 strikeouts across 18 innings pitched in 23 games following the All-Star Break for an average of 13 strikeouts per nine innings. Earned first save of Major League career Sept. 27 vs. Seattle after working a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts.
