Played college baseball at Wabash Valley Community College where he was 6-2 with a 2.72 ERA and seven saves in his second year...graduated from Butler County High School in Morgantown, Ky... resides in Bowling Green, Ky.

Began the season at Springfield (AA) and was promoted to Memphis (AAA) on 4/15 after four scoreless apps. and 3 saves... Recalled to St. Louis from Springfield on 5/31 and stayed with the big league club until the All-Star Break (7/15)... Made his Major League debut on 6/1 vs. SF (1.0IP, H, 0R, BB, K). Appeared in 12 games (13.2 IP) during his first stint with the club recording a 1.98 ERA and 11 K's... Was recalled a second time to St. Louis on 7/30, making an additional 4 appearances (6.1 IP)... Had a 9.1 inning scoreless streak in the majors from 6/8-7/13, spanning eight outings... Pitched 2.0 innings four times and had three strikeouts on 8/7 vs. LAD... Finished his season at Memphis where he made one start 8/25 at Iowa (3.0 innings), his first professional start.

2012 Made a career-high 53 appearances for Springfield serving as the team's closer, going down 25-for-26 in save opportunities. Ranked among Texas League leaders in saves (25, 2nd), appearances (53, 4th) and games finished (42, 3rd). Was a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities in the Texas League playoffs with five scoreless appearances. Led all Cardinals minor leaguers in saves and ranked fourth in appearances. Began the season converting his first 21 consecutive save opportunities. Only blown save came vs. NW Arkansas (7/30)in a game where the Cardinals rallied to win in the ninth inning. Rattled off 11 consecutive scoreless appearances from April 25 to May 19 covering 13.0 innings. Had an outstanding month of May posting a 1-0 record with an 0.71 ERA in 11 appearances converting 9-of-9 saves. Was not scored upon from August 20 through the end of the post-season on Sept. 15, spanning 10 games and 12.0 innings.
