The loss of Devon Travis for the rest of the postseason due to a right knee injury adds an additional challenge for a Blue Jays team facing a 2-0 American League Championship Series deficit against the Indians, but Toronto manager John Gibbons has worked on adjusting his defensive alignment and lineup as the series shifts to Rogers Centre.

2015

Became the first Blue Jays shortstop in club history to record five hits in a game, a career-high on Sept. 30 at BAL-1…Was the first TOR player since Colby Rasmus to have a five-hit game (June 5, 2012 at CWS). Over his final 52 games hit .287 with a .376 OBP & .783 OPS… Walked 25 times over that span after 20-BB over his previous 175 G. Prior to the All-Star break posted a line of .226/.273/.321… Following the break hit .274/.361/.387. His four triples this season was most on the club. Hit his first career walk off home run Sept. 1 vs. CLE… It marked the fourth walk-off HR by a TOR player…Became just the fourth player (fourth time) in club history to hit a walk-off HR out of the nine-hole (John McDonald, Ernie Whitt & Otto Velez). Had a career-high 16 game on base streak from Aug. 16-Sept. 6. Had a career-high 12-game hitting streak from Aug. 26-Sept. 2…Over those games hit .421 (16-38) with 3-2B, HR & 6 RBIs. Recorded his first career stolen base August 29 vs. DET… Had played 197 career games before recording that steal. Was named the R. Howard Webster Award winner at the AAA level. Began his Major League career with an eight-game hit streak (August 23-31) tying the club record set by Jesse Barfield in 1981 for longest hit streak by a rookie to begin their major league career. Committed just one error in 148 total chances at 2B this season with the Blue Jays. In 262.1 innings at second base, posted a .993 fielding percentage, the 3rd highest in the AL among second basemen from his debut until the end of the season…Over that stretch, he also posted the 2nd highest zone rating among AL second basemen at .876. Made his Major League debut on Aug. 23 at HOU going 2-4 with a double…Collected his 1st base hit in his 3rd at-bat vs. Lyles. Aug. 22 was recalled from Buffalo (AAA)…Hit .257 (97-377) with 22-2B, 1-3B, 6-HR & 46-RBI in 111 games with the Bisons.
