Robert (Robbie) Joseph Erlin...graduate of Scotts Valley (CA) High School, where he went 9-1 with a 0.63 ERA his senior season and was named Sentinel All-County Player of the Year...originally committed to play at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo…originally signed by Rangers' scout Butch Metzger.

2014

Made his first career Opening Day roster, seeing action in 13 games, 11 starts, for the Padres…missed a majority of the season with left elbow soreness...Over his 11 starts for San Diego, went 4-5 with a 4.76 ERA (31 ER, 58.2 IP) and 45 strikeouts against 15 walks...In his two relief outings, allowed three runs in 2.2 IP (10.13 ERA)...Landed on the 15-day DL on 5/22 (retro to 5/18) with left elbow soreness…transferred to the 60-day DL on 6/26...Made four rehab starts between the Rookie-Level Padres and Double-A San Antonio from 7/27 - 8/17, posting a 2.92 ERA (4 ER, 12.1 IP) with 15 strikeouts against four walks...Reinstated from the DL on 8/18 and optioned to Triple-A El Paso where he went 0-1 with a 9.28 ERA (11 ER, 10.2 IP) in two starts before being recalled on 9/1...Over seven games, six starts, at Petco Park in 2014, went 2-2 with a 2.86 ERA (11 ER, 34.2 IP) and 29 strikeouts against 10 walks while holding opponents to a .217 average.
