Patrick James Schuster…graduated from J.W. Mitchell (FL) High School...was named 2009 Sports Illustrated National Boys High School Athlete of the Year after throwing a Florida High School record four consecutive no-hitters his senior season…originally signed by Diamondbacks' scout Luke Wrenn after being selected in the 13th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.

 

2013

Pitched exclusively in relief for the first time in his professional career, making 55 appearances and posting a 1.83 ERA for High-A Visalia...Was equally tough on both right-handed and left-handed hitters, holding lefties to a .198 average and righties to a .184 mark...Allowed just five hits in 34 at bats with runners in scoring position, a .147 mark...Following the season, was the No. 1 overall selection by the Houston Astros in the Major League Phase of the Rule 5 Draft on December 12...was traded later that day to the Padres.

2012

Made 47 appearances, including two starts, in his first season with High-A Visalia.

2011

Promoted to Class-A South Bend and split his season between the starting rotation and the bullpen.

2010

Returned to Rookie-Level Missoula and spent the entire season as a starter, posting a 5-4 record with a 3.76 ERA in 15 starts.
