Graduated from Lamar Consolidated HS in Rosenburg, Texas, in 2009...was a four-time All-District selection and earned All-State in his junior and senior years...threw both a perfect game and a no-hitter, while winning 34 career games and striking out 376 batters in his high school career. • Selected by Milwaukee in the 39th round of the June 2009 draft but did not sign. • Attended Arizona State for three seasons (2010-12)...during his junior year, earned First Team Pac-12 All-Conference honors and NCAA Division I Second Team All-American honors after going 10-3 with a 2.27 ERA... threw a career-high 115.0 innings, which ranked second in the Pac-12. • Was drafted by Houston in the third round of the June 2012 draft...signed by Astros scout Mike Brown. • A Richmond, Texas native, Rodgers grew up rooting for the Astros. • Was added to the Astros 40-man roster on Sept. 2, 2016...is signed to a one-year contract that runs through 2017.

Made his Major League debut with Houston and made five appearances (one start) in the Majors down the stretch run...was named the Astros Minor League Pitcher of the Year and the Triple A Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year...was selected to the Major League roster on Sept. 2...made his Major League debut on Sept. 3 at TEX, throwing 0.2 of an inning in relief...started the Astros final game of the regular season on Oct. 2 at LAA, his first career start in the Majors...went 12-4 with a 2.86 ERA (42ER/132IP), 23 walks, 116 strikeouts, two complete games and one shutout in 22 starts at Triple A Fresno en route to PCL Pitcher of the Year honors...led all PCL pitchers in ERA while ranking second in walks-per-9.0 innings ratio (1.57), second in strikeout to walk ratio (5.04), fourth in WHIP (1.15) and tied for fourth in wins...was a PCL Midseason and Postseason All-Star...was the starting pitcher for the PCL in the Triple A All-Star Game...allowed one run on one hit in 2.0 innings, striking out three in the game...was named the PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 2-8 after tossing a four-hit, complete game shutout on May 4 vs. Reno...marked the first complete game of his career...struck out a careerhigh 11 batters in 6.2 innings on May 21 at Memphis.
