The Nationals trimmed their Spring Training roster by seven players Monday in the latest round of cuts.

The Nationals selected the contracts of infielder Chris Bostick, catcher Spencer Kieboom and left-hander Nick Lee on Thursday, adding them to the 40-man roster and thus protecting them from the Rule 5 Draft.

Spencer John Kieboom...Last name pronounced KEE-boom...Born in Mount Pleasant, SC but grew up in Marietta, GA where he attended Walton High School...Attended Clemson (SC) University where he was named to the Johnny Bench Award watch list in 2011 and 2012...Awarded a Rawlings Gold Glove by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2012...Was considered by many to be the best defensive catcher in the country for the 2012 draft and was ranked the No. 84 draft prospect in the nation, per Baseball America...Has dual-citizenship with the United States and The Netherlands... Father, Alswinn, was born in The Netherlands, moved to the United States at the age of 17.

Hit .248 with 16 doubles, one triple, two home runs, 26 RBI, 36 walks, one stolen base and 30 runs scored in 71 games for Single-A Potomac...36 walks marked a career-high...Was named a Carolina League All-Star...Was again tasked with handling some of Washington's top pitching prospects...Following the season, hit .238 with two home runs, seven RBI, eight walks and three runs scored in 13 games during his second stint in the Arizona Fall League.
