James Steven Jones…graduated from High School of Telecommunications (NY) in 2006…attended Long Island University, 2007-09…ranked 65th in Baseball America's list of all draft prospects in 2009, including 30th among college players… earned first team All Northeast Conference, 2007-09…pitched and also played at both first base and in the outfield…hit for the cycle on April 17, 2009 at Sacred Heart.

2014

Appeared in 108 games, making 72 starts (CF-69,RF-2, LF-1), hitting .250 (78x312) with 46 runs, 9 doubles, 5 triples, 9 RBI & 27 steals... Had four stints withthe Mariners (April 16-19, May5-Aug. 1, Aug. 11-17 & Aug. 29-endof season)... Stole 27 bases, thesecond-highest total by a Marinersrookie in club history behind Ichiro (56 in 2001)…ranked T9th overall in AL in steals... Spent the majority of the season with Jackson, but also appeared in 4 games with Tacoma (8/30-9/2). Led the Southern League with 10 triples, one short of the Jackson franchise record. Hit 2 home runs on June 22 vs. Mobile (3x4, 2 R, 2 HR, 4 RBI), including an inside-thepark home run; first inside-the-park home run by a Generals player since Jake Shaffer (5/6/2011 vs. Birmingham). Hit .358 (38x106) with 11 extra-base hits and 41 RBI with runners in scoring position. Played in the Southern League midseason All-Star Game. On the disabled list with a left triceps strain, Aug. 2-26.
