Attended Flower Mound HS and graduated in 2007...pitched the first no-hitter in Flower Mound HS history in 2007, helping lead his team to the district title and a No. 3 national ranking later that same year...Was not drafted out of high school and went on to attend Seward County College for two seasons (2008-09)...was the team's top pitcher in 2009 as he compiled a 10-3 overall record and a 2.58 ERA...drafted in the 36th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by Pittsburgh, but did not sign...Elected to transfer to Texas Tech and played one season as a Red Raider, posting a 5-4 record with one save and a 4.35 ERA...recorded 81 strikeouts in 89.0 innings pitched...received All-Big 12 Team Honorable Mention honors in 2010...started Texas Tech's Saturday game vs. Rice in the 2010 Houston College Classic hosted at Minute Maid Park and did not record a decision (2ER/7IP)...drafted by Houston in the fourth round of the June 2010 draft...signed by Astros scout Jim Stevenson...Is currently signed to a minor league contract for the 2014 season...invited to Major League Spring Training on Jan. 14, 2014.

2013

Combined to go 11-2 with a 3.51 ERA (54ER/138.1IP) with Triple A OKC (8g/gs) and Double A Corpus Christi (23g/13gs)...began his year at Corpus as a piggyback starter...made two spot starts with OKC (June 25, July 23) before finishing his season with the RedHawks from Aug. 3 thru the end of the year...went undefeated (3-0) in his eight starts at OKC...finished tied for third among all Astros minor leaguers with 11 wins.

2012

Returned to Advanced A Lancaster, where he pitched his entire 2011 season, and made 14 starts before a promotion to Double A Corpus Christi...made four turns in the Hooks rotation before returning to Lancaster...made three starts at Lancaster before returning to Corpus to make his final six starts of the season...combined to go 14-6 with a 4.00 ERA (70ER/157.1IP) in 27 starts on the season...was named a California League Midseason All-Star, after posting an 8-4 record and a 3.57 ERA (41ER/103.1IP) in 17 starts...ranked second in the California League in ERA and third in home runs allowed, WHIP (1.21), and opponents average (min. 100 innings).

2011

Moved to Class A Advanced Lancaster, where he made 22 appearances, including 13 starts...made 11 starts to begin the season before being placed on the DL on June 3...returned to action on July 20 and made nine of his last 11 appearances out of the bullpen.

2010

After being drafted by Houston in the fourth round, signed his professional contract on June 9...assigned to Class A Short Season Tri-City and went 4-5 with a 4.67 ERA (37ER/71.1IP) in 15 starts for the ValleyCats...made his professional debut on June 19 vs. Connecticut, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings...tied for the club lead in starts...walked only nine batters in his 71.1 innings pitched...among New York-Penn League pitchers to toss at least 70.0 innings, his nine walks were only bested by teammate RHP Carlos Quevedo (8BB/85.1IP).
