Felipe was a Supercross BMX racer when he was 10 years old in the Dominican...he gave up the sport to focus on baseball...Has a tattoo on his forearm of the name of his two-year-old daughter, Tavianny...Participated in the Rays Winter Development Program at Tropicana Field in January.

2014

First season in the Nationals chain was derailed by a left elbow injury that landed him on the DL in early-May...Returned to action in late July...Went a combined 2-7 with a 3.35 ERA in 14 starts between three stops...Struck out 50 batters while walking 19, in 53.2 IP...Following the season, went 2-4 with a 6.08 ERA in seven starts for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League.

Won a career-high 9 games and posted a strong 3.40 ERA in 25 games/23 starts for (Port) Charlotte of the Single-A Florida State League...the 9 wins also paced the Stone Crabs staff and tied for 4th in the FSL...capped the '13 season not allowing a run in final 16.2 innings pitched...tossed career-high 127.0 innings and .257 batting average against was stingiest mark of career...tossed pair of complete games: June 7 vs. Palm Beach (Game 2 of doubleheader) and Aug. 24 vs. Jupiter...following the season, pitched in 5 games for Caracas of the Venezuelan Winter League and struck out 7 in 5.2 innings pitched.
