Scott Logan Verrett graduated from Calallen (TX) High School…Led Calallen to 2008 Texas Class 4A state title...The team finished 42-1 and No. 9 nationally in final Collegiate Baseball/Easton Sports rankings...Named to the 2008 UIL 4A State Tournament Team...Selected the 2008 Texas Sports Writers Association Class 4A Player of the Year and first-team all-state pitcher selection...Posted a 18-0 record with a 0.67 ERA, 167 strikeouts, 12 complete game and three shutouts as senior...Also played football at Calallen for three years…Earned Caller-Times All-South Texas, all-metro and all-district honors at wide receiver...Attended Baylor University...Ranks seventh in Baylor history with 257 strikeouts, third among pitchers with three or fewer years of experience...His 3.52 career ERA in Big 12 Conference play is third in school history, while his 3.52 strikeout-to-walk ratio is second...Was named second team All-Big 12 in 2010...Was invited to the 2009 USA Baseball National Team trials.
