Attended the University of Texas...was Texas' primary shortstop during his entire three-year collegiate career (.283 career batting average)...was named to the 2014 College World Series All-Tournament Team...earned Big 12 All-Freshman honors in 2013...Played on the 2013 United States Collegiate National Team...also played for the U-16 National Team in 2009 and U-14 National Team in 2008...Attended Klein Collins High School...was a two-time High School All-American...Was rated the #32 high school prospect in the nation and #4 prospect in Texas according to Perfect Game in 2012...Originally a 26th round draft pick of the Houston Astros in 2012 out of high school, but did not sign.


Climbing to double-A by the end of June in his first full season, Hinojosa posted a .348 on-base percentage across two levels while totaling 35 extra base hits...overall, combined for a .274 batting average, 72 runs scored, 21 doubles, five triples, nine homers and 53 RBI in 126 games with Class A Advanced San Jose and double-A Richmond...Was named a mid-season All-Star for SJ and was the starting shortstop for the Cal League...Transferred to double-A on June 30, where he hit .248 in 57 games.


Played for Salem-Keizer (Short-Season) and hit .296 with five homers and 19 RBI in 48 games...Led the Volcanoes with 18 doubles...struck out only 15 times in 189 at-bats (one strikeout every 12.6 ABs)...All 47 starts were at shortstop...committed 14 errors.
