Graduated from Prestonwood Christian Academy (Plano, Texas) in 2008, where he lettered in baseball, football and basketball and was team captain of all three squads...drafted by Colorado in 2008, but did not sign...was a 2007 AFLAC high school all-American and played for the 2007 USA Baseball Junior National team and in the 2007 Connie Mack World Series...played college baseball at Arizona State University...registered a 2.05 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched and set the single season saves record with 14 during his sophomore season at Arizona State in 2010...pitched in the 2010 College World Series...was a first team All-Pac 10 selection and named a finalist for the 2010 Stopper of the Year Award in college baseball...resides in Sachse, Texas.

2013

Began the season on the disabled list as he continued his recovery from Tommy John surgery...Was assigned to the Gulf Coast League for rehab on 6/21. Made a 2.0 inning start on 6/22 in his first pro game since 9/5/11...Pitched 2.0 more scoreless innings at Gulf Coast before being re-instated from the DL on 6/29 and transferred to the Palm Beach (High-A) roster...Appeared in six games for Palm Beach, all in relief, before landing back on the disabled list on 7/23 until the end of the season to continue further rehab from his surgery.

2012

Was a non-roster invitee to Major League camp in spring training...injured his right elbow during spring training that resulted in Tommy John surgery on 4/4 by Dr. Lew Yocum...he missed the entire season.
