Daniel Robertson…graduated from South Hills High School in West Covina, Calif...attended Oregon State University for his senior season after playing three years at Concordia in Irvine, Calif...originally signed by Padres' scout Andrew Salvo.

2014

Spent a majority of the season with the Rangers after being acquired in a minor league deal from the Padres April 23...Hit .271 (48/177) with 23 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple, 21 RBI and six stolen bases for the Rangers...Made appearances in all three outfield positions for Texas, including 30 in left field, 21 in center field and 18 in right field...Also played two games as the designated hitter and one at second base...Made his Major League debut April 29 vs. Oakland...Tallied first big league hit the following night off Oakland's Jim Johnson...Was optioned back to Triple-A Round Rock May 7 before being recalled for final time May 18...Posted a .290 (38/131) average from July 1 through the remainder of the season which ranked fourth by an A.L. rookie (min. 145 PA)...Hit .217 (10/46) in his first 22 big league contests...Registered a .330 (32/97) average against left-handed pitching in the Majors...Missed six games with non-displaced fractures in the face after collision with Alex Rios May 22...Played in just 13 games at the minor league level, combining to go 15-for-50 (.300) with three doubles, a triple and three home runs with Triple-A El Paso (SD) and Triple-A Round Rock.
