Sat out the 2011 season redshirting at Oklahoma City University after transferring from San Diego State University...during his two years at SDSU, the versatile righty compiled a 4-4 record with a 6.71 ERA in 13 appearances (12 starts)...also spent time around the infield with the Aztecs, batting .259 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI...his six homers in 2009 were good for third best on the SDSU squad...collected his first collegiate home run at the Padres' PETCO Park (April 3, 2009)...was a four-year varsity baseball letterman at Valhalla High School (El Cajon, Calif.) and a four-time All-Grossmont North League and all-CIF selection...earned first-team all-state honors and was named to the Baseball Coaches of America all-District 8 squad as a senior...older brother Sean pitches for the Kansas City Royals...originally selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 10th round of the 2008 draft. 2011 Went 0-1 with a 6.48 ERA in three regular season starts for the Ogden Raptors...started Game One of the Pioneer League Championship Series surrendering three earned runs over three innings vs. the Great Falls Voyagers.
