Jarret Robert Martin was originally signed by Orioles scout Gil Kubski…was drafted by the Orioles in 2008 out of Centennial (CA) High School but did not sign…committed to Cal State Fullerton before transferring to Bakersfield Junior College and was drafted and signed by the Orioles in 2009.

2017

Started the season with York of the independent Atlantic League and was 0-0 with four saves and a 0.98 ERA in 18 relief appearances before signing a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants June 3…was assigned to Double-A Richmond where he went 4-2 with a save and a 2.04 ERA in 37 games, including one start…combined with both clubs for a career-low 1.71 ERA in a career-high 55 appearances…struck out 67 batters in 58.0 innings (10.40 per nine innings) but walked 40 (6.21 per nine innings)…did not allow a home run…ranked third in the Eastern League with 10 holds…with Richmond, he allowed a .167 opponents batting average…that included .158 (9-for-57) against left-handed hitters compared to .173 (13-for-75) against right-handers…had 10 walks and 24 strikeouts against lefties, 20 walks and 16 strikeouts against righties…allowed a .128 batting average with runners in scoring position, including .136 with RISP and two outs… opponents were 0-for-9 with the bases loaded…yielded a .185 batting average to hitters leading off an inning but had a .405 on-base percentage in that situation…allowed 3-of-22 (13.6%) inherited runners to score…his ERA decreased each month as he logged a 4.35 ERA in 10 games in June, a 2.03 ERA in 12 appearances in July and a 0.68 ERA in 13 games in August…did not allow a run in two games in September (2.2 ip)…compiled a 3.00 ERA in nine day games, a 1.76 ERA in 28 appearances at night…combined for a 1.25 ERA in the eighth and ninth innings.

RICHMOND: Tossed at least one inning in 29 of his 37 appearances…including a season-high 2.0 innings three times (July 1 at Reading, July 6 against Erie, July 14 against Harrisburg…did not allow a run over his first three games (2.2 ip)…then surrendered a season-high three runs on a season-high two hits in 0.1 innings in the second game of a June 15 doubleheader against New Hampshire…had a 4.15 ERA over a 14-game stretch from June 15 to July 19…walked a seasonhigh three batters June 18 at Harrisburg (also Aug. 6 at New Hampshire, 2nd game)…issued at least one walk in 23 of his 37 appearances…made his only start of the season July 1 at Reading and took the loss in a 3-0 decision (2.0 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 2 so)…struck out a season-high three batters July 6 against Erie, his first of four three-strikeout games (July 14 against Harrisburg, July 30 against Erie, Aug. 3 at Portland)…did not allow a run in 19 of his final 20 appearances beginning July 22…yielded one run in 20.2 innings over that span (0.44 ERA) and opponents hit .154 (10-for-65) with 15 walks…did not allow a run over a nine-game span from July 22 to Aug. 10 (7.2 ip)…stranded each of his eight inherited runners over that stretch and opponents were 1-for-24 (.042) with seven walks…was credited with his lone save July 30 against Erie (1.1 ip, 3 so)…finished the season with a 10-game scoreless streak (11.0 ip).

2016

Pitched for three different teams in the independent Canadian-American Association and combined to go 0-4 with a 5.77 ERA in 12 games, including 10 starts…struck out 48 batters in 48.1 innings but also walked 38…spent time playing for Rockland, Sussex County and Ottawa.

2015

Had surgery on his left shoulder January 29 and missed most of the season…went 1-1 with a 22.50 ERA in five games, including two starts, over two rehab assignments (June 29 to July 2 and July 25 to Aug. 2) with the Brewers affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League before he was reinstated from the disabled list Aug. 3…was assigned to Single-A Wisconsin and logged a 4.50 ERA in three relief appearances before returning to the DL Aug. 12 with a strained right oblique muscle…missed the remainder of the season…combined for a 16.50 ERA in eight appearances overall…walked nine and struck out five in 6.0 innings.

2014

Pitched exclusively in relief for the first time in his career and was 1-1 with a 3.29 ERA in 46 relief appearances with Single-A Chattanooga…converted all seven of his save opportunities… the saves were a career-high…struck out 64 batters in 54.2 innings (10.54 per nine innings) but also walked 48 (7.90 per nine innings)…limited opponents to a .182 batting average, including .176 by right-handed hitters and .194 by left-handers…yielded a .081 batting average to batters leading off an inning but walked 17 for a .370 on-base percentage…opponents hit .164 with runners in scoring position, including .094 with RISP and two outs…had two stints on the disabled list…was out from April 29 to May 8 with left shoulder tendinitis and Aug. 15 to 27 with a strained left shoulder…compiled a 1.08 ERA in nine games in May…had an eight-game scoreless streak from May 21 to June 7 (7.1 ip).

2013

Combined to go 6-7 with a 4.30 ERA in 40 games (14 starts) with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Chattanooga... After making 14 starts to begin the 2013 campaign (5-7, 4.86 ERA, 38 ER/70.1 IP), was used exclusively as a reliever, combining to go 1-0 with two saves and a 2.77 ERA (8 ER/26.0 IP) in 26 appearances out of the bullpen... Promoted to Chattanooga on Aug. 2 and allowed just two runs in 10.2 innings in 11 relief appearances with the Lookouts (1.69 ERA)... With Chattanooga, limited opponents to a .222 batting average with runners in scoring position (4-for-8) with six strikeouts

2012

Earned Single-A Midwest League All-Star honors in his first year in the Dodger organization, spending the majority of the year with Great Lakes before a late-season promotion to Rancho Cucamonga, combining to go 4-6 with a 4.65 ERA in 18 starts... Tied for the Great Lakes team lead with 78 strikeouts in 77.2 innings... With the Loons, limited opposing hitters to a .221 batting average, including a .211 mark against left-handers (20-for-95)... Promoted to Rancho on Aug. 12, making two starts for the Quakes.
