Born on September 10, 1985, in Costa Mesa, CA, where he currently resides...Signed through 2011....Selected in the 26th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of Cal. State Fullerton 2010 Began the season at High-A Modesto where he was the club's primary closer...led the Nuts with 24 saves in 26 opportunities in 41 appearances...also finished fifth in the California League in saves...Was promoted to Double-A Tulsa 8/5 where he spent the remainder of the season...prior to being promoted tossed 16 straight outings for Modesto without allowing a run...over those 16 games allowed 10 hits, 2 walks and struckout 16 in 15.0 innings and was 8-for-8 in save opportunities...Pitched for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League following the season where he went 0-0, 1.93 (9.1 ip, 2 er) with one save in 10 appearances for the Scorpions. 2009 Spent his 2nd professional season with Asheville as the club's closer...went 1-5 with 27 saves and a 3.38 ERA (58.2 ip, 22 er) in 60 appearances...converted 27 of his 32 save opportunities...owned an 11.8 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched ratio (58.2 ip, 77 so) on the season...was more effective following the All-Star break, as he owned a 1.55 ERA (29.0 ip,5 er) while converting 17 of his 19 save opportunities after the break...his 27 saves led the South Atlantic League. 2008 Spent his first professional season with the Casper Ghosts as one of the clubs top relievers...led Ghosts relievers with a 1.24 ERA (29.0 ip, 4 er), and tied for the team lead among relievers with 43 strikeouts... owned a 10.8 strikeout/walk ratio (43 so's/4 bb)...allowed opponents to hit just 163 (17-for-104) with lefties at .174 (8-for-46) and righties at .155 (9-for-58).
