Antonio "A.J." Jimenez... @Ajjim31 ... Attended Academia Discipulos de Cristo High School (Bayamon, Puerto Rico)... Was a roommate of fellow Jays prospect Dickie Thon when playing together in Puerto Rico... Was an outfielder before being converted into a catcher.

2014

Began the season with New Hampshire (AA), appearing in 25 games before being promoted to Buffalo (AAA) for the remainder of the season...Was on the disabled list from Aug. 5-27 and missed 23 games with right ulnar neuritis (elbow)...Had an 11-game hit streak from June 2-16 with the Bisons...Made a team-high 48 starts for Buffalo at catcher and led the club with 14 caught stealing in 33 attempts (42.4%)...Played for the World Team at the 2014 MLB Future's Game.

2013

Played in three different levels after beginning the season on the DL while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Appeared in nine games for Dunedin Blue Jays (A) hitting .429 before being promoted to New Hampshire (AA). Spent the majority of the season with the Fisher Cats…Threw out 48% of base runners (10-21) and did not make an error in 339 total chances. Was selected to the Futures Game and was the starting catcher for the World Team, going 0-1 with a walk in the contest. Finished the season with Buffalo playing in eight games for the Bisons…Did not record an error in 59 chances behind the plate…Threw out 46% of base runners (6-13)…Has now thrown out 47% of potential base stealers over the past four seasons (103-220).

2012 Caught 27 games for the Fisher Cats before having his season end prematurely... Had Tommy John surgery in late May...Opened the season with a season high three hit effort and ended with six multi-hit games...Threw out 55% of potential base stealers (12-22) and has now recorded a 48.8% total over the last three seasons (120- 246). 2011 Was with the Dunedin Blue Jays (High-A) for the entire season serving as the clubs primary catcher... THE ACCOLADES CONTINUE: Picked up the R. Howard Webster Award for Dunedin as the team MVP... Led the club with a .303 average and was 2nd on the club with 115 hits and 29 doubles... Earned the distinction as the best defensive catcher in the Florida State League as voted by FSL Managers in a Baseball America poll... Was named to the Florida State League Mid Season and Post Season All-Satr squads... CONTROL THE RUNNING GAME: Was stellar behind the plate making only six errors in 98 games, while throwing out 44% of potential base stealers (38-86)... Has now thrown out 42% of potential base stealers in his career (110-266)... Batted .328 in the first half of the season and .283 after the break... WINTER BALL: Played in the Puerto Rican Winter League, posting a .189 average with one home run and eight RBI. 2010 Appeared in 72 games last season, all but two games with Lansing (A)... A LOT OF COMPANY: Is one of five catchers in the Blue Jays system to earned All-Star selections, along with Carlos Perez, Travis d'Arnuad, Brian Jeroloman and J.P. Arencibia... MR. CONSISTENCY: Finished with a .305 average, not falling below .286 for any month of the season... Batted .308 before the All-Star break ,and .300 after... Hit .304 vs. left-handed pitching and .306 vs. righthanded pitching... CLUTCH: With runners on base batted .352 (43-122), and saw that rise to .376 with runners in scoring position (32-85)... In 11 at-bats with the base loaded, collected seven hits, including two doubles and a grand slam on June 10, a career high six RBI day... Saw his first action in High-A for Dunedin, appearing in two games in September. 2009 In his first full season, caught 72 games at Lansing (A)... Hit his first professional home run on July 3... Added four three-hit games during the season. 2008 Made his professional debut in June with the Gulf Coast Blue Jays... Collected only four hits in his first 30 at-bats, before batting .274 (5-17) in the seasons final month.
