The Tigers lost more than a back-and-forth ballgame in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Astros. They also lost catcher James McCann in the middle of a grueling road trip that includes a doubleheader Friday.

Resides in Goochland, VA during the offseason... Participated in the Tigers Winter Caravan and TigerFest... Selected by Los Angeles (AL) in the 31st round of the June 2008 draft, but did not sign... Earned First Team All-ACC honors as a junior in 2011 at the University of Virginia.

2016

Began the 2016 season in the Minnesota Twins organization before being claimed off waivers by the Tigers on April 23... Selected as an organizational All-Star by MiLB.com... Assigned to Triple A Rochester to begin the season -- hit .242 (8x33) with a run scored, two doubles, one home run and one RBI in nine games...Claimed off waivers by the Tigers from Minnesota on April 23 and was assigned to Double A Erie -- played in 14 games with the SeaWolves and hit .388 (19x49) with seven runs scored, one double, one triple, one home run and four RBI...
