Bucs put Cervelli on DL; acquire Kratz from Angels

The Pirates will be without catcher Francisco Cervelli for at least a month, as he had surgery Saturday to repair a broken hamate bone in his left hand. In his place, Pittsburgh has acquired catcher Erik Kratz from the Angels in exchange for cash considerations.

Curtis Richard Haley III...Is a 2008 graduate of Central Heights (TX) High School...Signed a letter of intent to play at Rice University...Entered the 2008 draft ranked by Baseball America as the 33rd-best high school pitching prospect...His brother, Hunter, plays baseball at the University of Oklahoma. 

2015

Spent final season in the Cleveland organization... Went 4-4 with one save and a 2.45 ERA (55.0ip/15er) while not allowing a home run in 43 combined relief appearances between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus...Whiffed at least one batter in 23 of his 25 outings with Akron...Was charged with the loss (1.0ip/1r) in first appearance on 4/11 vs. Binghamton...Was scored upon once in his final 10 Double-A games (15.1ip/2er)...Was on the disabled list from 7/2-11 with a concussion...Was promoted to Columbus on 7/11 for the remainder of the season...Tossed 2.0 scoreless innings and won his Clippers debut on 7/12 vs. Indianapolis...
