Sean Patrick Gilmartin graduated from Crespi Carmelite High School (CA) before pitching three seasons for Florida State University…Went 33-13 with a 3.56 ERA in 56 games (50 starts) for the Seminoles...During his junior year in 2011, went 12-2 with a 2.09 ERA in 18 games, 17 starts, earning first team All-ACC honors and was a Baseball America First-Team All-American selection...As a sophomore in 2010, he started the Opening Game of the College World Series vs. TCU....Was a member of the 2010 Team USA Collegiate National team...As a freshman at FSU in 2009, was named to the NCAA Division I All-America Third-Team...Came in fifth in the country with 12 victories… Became the first freshman in FSU history to earn a berth on the First-Team All-ACC Team.

2015

Made his first career Opening Day roster and made his major league debut on April 10 at Atlanta (against the team that originally drafted him) with 0.2 scoreless innings and one strikeout...Selected by the Mets in the 2014 Rule 5 Draft from the Minnesota Twins....Righthanders hit .216 (25-116) and lefties were 25-96 (.260)...With RISP, opponents batted .236 (13-55)...Allowed two home runs over 57.1 innings...Finished with 21 strikeouts over his last 13 games (20.2 innings)...Earned first major league victory on June 14 vs. Atlanta with 2.0 scoreless innings...Did not allow a run the entire month of June while holding hitters to a .097 batting average against (10 games, 9.2 innings pitched, three hits)...Overall, did not permit a run in 13 consecutive games from May 27-July 4 (11.2 innings, 11 strikeouts)...Tossed a bullpen season-high 3.1 innings on August 24 at Philadelphia to pick up the win....Made his first major league start on October 1 at Philadelphia...Suffered the loss...Allowed two earned runs over 5.0 innings.

2014

Spent the year in Minnesota's organization, going a combined 9-7 with a 3.71 ERA in 26 starts between New Britain (AA) of the Eastern League and Rochester (AAA) of the International League...In 145.2 innings, he gave up 145 hits, 69 runs, 60 earned, with 44 walks and 133 strikeouts...Struck out 74 batters in 72.0 innings (9.25 batters per nine innings) at Double-A...For the year, lefthanded batters hit .201 (30-149) against him...Did not surrender a home run to a lefthanded batter...Went a season's best 8.0 innings May 20 vs. Richmond...Also went 7.1 innings twice, June 5 vs. Akron and July 26 vs. Indianapolis...Struck out a season's best nine batters four times, three times with New Britain and once with Rochester.
