Heading into 2013 his slider was rated the best in the organization, while in 2012 his fastball was rated the best among all Reds farmhands...in 2012 was a mid-season Southern League All-Star...in 2011 was a Baseball America Class A All-Star and a mid-season Midwest League All-Star...following each of the 2010 and 2011 seasons was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher of the Reds' Instructional League...twice in 2011 was named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week (6/14-6/20, 8/16-8/22).

2014

In his Major League debut made 3 starts and 2 relief apps...among all Reds minor leaguers ranked T4th with 10 wins...spent most of the season at Class AA Pensacola, where he made 26 apps before he was promoted to the Reds on 8/22...on 8/26 vs Cubs celebrated his 24th birthday by throwing a perfect ninth inning in his Major League debut...struck out his first 2 batters (Wellington Castillo, Chris Valaika)...was optioned to Class AAA Louisville following that start, when Dylan Axelrod was promoted, and returned to Cin as 1 of 10 September callups to make 1 relief appearance followed by 3 straight starts...made his first big league start in the 3-2 walkoff loss on 9/12 at Mil and in his first career plate appearance singled off Kyle Lohse...didn't allow a baserunner until Carlos Gomez led off the fourth inning by reaching on a strikeout/wild pitch and didn't allow a hit until Jonathan Lucroy's RBI-single 1 out and 2 batters later...made his last 2 starts in a 3-1 loss on 9/17 at Chi and a 5-0 loss on 9/24 vs Mil.
