Spent the 2013 season with the Los Angeles Angels Double-A affiliate Arkansas Travelers, where he posted a 5-8 record with a 3.38 ERA in a career-high 22 games started. Also posted career highs in innings pitched (122.2) and strikeouts (89), narrowly edging his previous highs in each category of 121.0 innings pitched and 85 strikeouts, both set in 2012...Allowed just 0.07 home runs/9.0 innings pitched, the lowest mark among Travelers starters...Surrendered one or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 22 starts...Tossed a season-high 8.0 innings in his final start of the year on 8/30 vs. Springfield, picking up the win after allowing one run on two hits, while striking out a pair...Struck out 10 batters on 6/9 at Northwest Arkansas, the first 10+ strikeout performance of his career...Closed out the season with a 2.19 ERA (9 ER/37.0 IP) in August, compiling a 1-1 record with 22 strikeouts over his final six starts.
