Cory Vaughn graduated from Jesuit (CA) High School in 2008…As a senior, batted .330 with six home runs, 37 RBI and 18 stolen bases...Played football for the Marauders during his final two years...Named MVP of the freshman basketball team...Attended San Diego State University and played for Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn…Was an All-Mountain West Conference selection as an outfielder as a sophomore and a second-team All-MWC pick as a junior...His father Greg played in the majors leagues for 15 years from 1989-2003 with the Padres, Brewers, Reds, Devil Rays and Rookies…Was a four-time All-Star...Selected in the 43rd round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft by the Phillies, but did not sign...Suffers from diabetes.
