Aaron Andermon Poreda…wife's name is Melissa…pitched 3 seasons at the University of San Francisco, going 17-11, 2.61 and earning All-West Coast Conference 1st team honors in final 2 years…was 7-6, 2.89 in 14 starts in junior season…pitched at Campolindo High School in Moraga, Calif. (graduated 2004).

2013

Underwent ligament reconstruction surgery on his left elbow on October 2012 with Dr. James Andrews performing the procedure…spent the off-season rehabbing before being released by Pittsburgh on March 12, 2013…did not play at all last season…was signed by Texas following his tryout for several major league clubs in October 2013.

2012

Was selected by Pittsburgh in the Triple-A phase of the December 2011 Rule 5 Draft…opened the season at Altoona (AA) and was 2-0, 2.25 (4 ER/16.0 IP) in 3 starts…issued one unearned run in 5.0 innings to defeat Akron in his outing on April 10 and beat Harrisburg (6.0 IP, 2 R) in his next start on April 16…made his final appearance on April 22 vs. Richmond, permitting 2 earned runs in 5.0 innings in a no decision…was placed on the Curve's DL after feeling discomfort in his left elbow in that start…spent several months attempting to rehab the injury before undergoing surgery.

Was 4th in appearances (41) at Tucson (AAA) in final season in San Diego organization…had 79 strikeouts in 69.2 innings of work…was on the Padres' 40-man roster during spring training before being designated for assignment on June 13 and assigned outright to Tucson on June 16.
