The Padres optioned left-hander Ryan Buchter to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday afternoon, amid a handful of roster moves that included optioning Nick Noonan back to El Paso, and recalling infielder/outfielder Patrick Kivlehan and left-hander Keith Hessler.

Married (Amanda Hathaway), Nov. 16, 2013. Graduated from Francis Parker (San Diego, CA) High School. Turned down a scholarship to Clemson and was signed by the Giants in the 2007 draft.

Made his first career Opening Day roster with the Giants and hit .219 (23-for-105) in 62 games. During Spring Training was optioned to triple-A on March 15, but with the release of Wilson Valdez on March 22, he came back to camp and batted .400 (10-for-25) with a HR and five RBI...hit .186 (8-for-43) with two RBI before March 22. Made five different appearances with the Giants. Started 17 games (11 at second base and six at third base). Was just 4-for-31 (.129) as a pinch-hitter, with just one hit in his last 26 pinch-hit opportunities. Collected his first Major League hit on April 7 vs. St. Louis off RHP Joe Kelly. Made his first career start on April 11 at Chicago-NL on a day that was raining and 40 degrees...went 3-for-5 with one RBI to become the first Giant to get three-plus hits in his first major-league start since Travis Ishikawa on May 26, 2006 vs. Colorado. Hit .255 (42-for-164) in 48 games for triple-A Fresno.

2012 In his second taste of triple-A, Noonan batted .296(145-for-490) with 26 doubles, nine home runs and 62 RBI in 129 games...Led the Grizzlies in games played, hits and multi-hit games(42)...his 145 hits and 129 games played were careerhigh... finished second on the team in doubles (26) and runs scored (65) and was fourth on club in RBI (62) and walks (40)...Played the majority of his games at shortstop, appearing in 97 games...also played 13 at third base and six at second...committed a team-high 24 errors...On May 20 at Round Rock, he hit two home runs, including his first career grand slam, and drove in eight runs in Fresno's 11-5 win...the eight RBI set a Grizzlies franchise record for RBI in a single game, passing the previous mark of seven last set by John Bowker on August 16, 2009 at Nashville...his first home run, a two-run shot, was in the 3rd inning off Martin Perez...in the 6th, he hit the grandslam off Sean Green...finished the game 4-for-5 with a single, double, two home runs, two runs scored and eight RBI...Matched the Grizzlies franchise record for hits in a single game with five hits on June 12 in Fresno's 8-7 13-inning win over Sacramento...his fifth and final hit of the game was a walk-off single, driving in Francisco Peguero. 2011 Split campaign between three different levels within Giants' farm system, playing for Class A Advanced San Jose, double-A Richmond and triple-A Fresno...combined for .229 avg.
