Zachary Craig (Zach) Lutz graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2004...Went to Alvernia College in Reading, PA. Was the two-time Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007...Named the Division III National Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Following his junior season was ranked nationally in the top 10 in eight different categories including seventh in batting (.467), eighth in home runs (12) and second in slugging percentage (.883).

2013

Began the season with Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League before being recalled by the Mets on June 23...Optioned to the 51s on July 2 before returning on September 1. Made his season debut, June 25 at Chicago-AL...Popped out as a pinch-hitter. Made his first start on June 27 at Colorado...Singled and scored a run in three at-bats...Also drew a walk. Collected his first career RBI, September 2 at Atlanta...Both his RBI came as a pinch-hitter...Went 4-7 (.571) with two doubles as a pinch-hitter with three walks, good for a .700 on-base percentage. Made three starts for the Mets, all at third base. Hit .293 (117-399) with 13 home runs and 80 RBI in 111 games for the 51s. Hit .305 (18-59) for the 51s with runners in scoring position and two outs.
