Eric begins his fifth season of professional ball after being drafted by the Cubs in 2010 out of Northwestern University … is 33-25 with three complete games and a 3.48 ERA (189 ER/489.1 IP) to go along with 401 strikeouts in 97 games (73 starts) spanning four minor league seasons ... Has walked just 167 hitters while surrendering 44 home runs in 489.1 career innings of work ... Tossed a 9.0-inning no-hitter, August 6, 2013, with Tennessee at Jacksonville ... was the Smokie's first 9.0-inning no-hitter since Scot Elam turned the
trick in 1985 ... Participated in the Cubs Rookie Development Program in January of 2014 ... Has won double digit games in three-straight seasons; 10 wins and 2011 & 2012 and a career-high 11 wins in 2013 ...
